Things to Do in Denver
Golden Gate Canyon State Park
Offers miles of great hiking trails, just a
short drive from Denver. One of the best views on the Front Range can
be seen from Panorama Point; there are old groves of aspens at Bootleg
Bottom and Fraser Meadow offer wildflowers and old homesteads.
Yes, we know this is part of the Atomic Cowboy Provisions but the biscuit sandwiches are to die for! Friendly and quick service, although there may be a wait for a table. You cannot come to Denver and not stop here.
Tiny Town
From Tiny Town to the world’s largest locomotive, Denver is one of the
most famous railroading destinations in the country. Here’s a bucket
list guide to all things rail in Colorado.
Red Rocks
The relatively new Geologic Overview Trail at Red Rocks Amphitheater is a
short, steep 1.1 mile trail that pays off big with spectacular views of
the north side of the rocks, an area most people don’t see when
attending a concert. You can do a loop from the far north parking lot
if you walk through the tunnel.
Wash Park
Of course visit Washington Park, but also stroll the surrounding streets
of West Wash Park, which are filled with white picket fences, private
gardens, flowering crab apple and cherry trees and delightful coffee
shops like the Wash Perk.
Charlie Brown's
Know as the "Cheers" of Denver, Charlie Brown's Bar and Grill has "Something for Everyone." Looking for
good food and drink? They got it. Piano bar? They got it. Outdoor patio, got that too.
